What is the Invisible Character?

An invisible character is a real Unicode character that draws nothing. Apps that reject an empty name or message usually accept one, because it is not a normal space. Hangul Filler (U+3164) and Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) are the most widely accepted; zero-width characters such as U+200B take up no space at all.

Hidden characters also cause real bugs: a zero-width space in a password, a no-break space in code, or right-to-left override characters that change how text is displayed. The detector names every hidden character it finds and can strip them out, while keeping the joiners that hold emoji like 👩‍💻 together.
