What is the Special Characters & Symbols?

Every symbol here is a standard Unicode character, so it pastes as text into documents, emails, social media and code — no font or image needed. Click a symbol to see its code point (for example U+2713), its HTML entity (✓) and its CSS escape (\2713).

Symbols that show as an empty box on someone else’s screen are missing from their fonts. The arrows, check marks, currency signs and math symbols in this list are supported almost everywhere; emoji-style symbols can look different on each platform.
