FAQ Schema Generator
Generate FAQPage structured data (JSON-LD) from your questions and answers. Add, edit and remove pairs and copy or download valid, correctly escaped Schema.org markup, ready to paste into your page as a script tag.
This tool runs entirely in your browser.
How to use the FAQ Schema Generator
- 1Type each question and its answer. Use the same wording that appears on the page.
- 2Add more pairs with Add question and remove any you don’t need. Empty pairs are ignored.
- 3Copy the JSON-LD (wrapped in a script tag by default) and paste it into the page’s HTML, or download it as a file.
What is the FAQ Schema Generator?
FAQPage is the Schema.org type for a page with a list of questions and answers. In JSON-LD it is an object with "@type": "FAQPage" and a mainEntity array of Question items, each with a name (the question) and an acceptedAnswer whose text is the answer. Search engines and AI assistants can read this markup to understand the page’s Q&A content.
Valid markup is not a promise of special search results. Since August 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites, so most sites won’t see the expandable questions in search. The markup still describes your content accurately — just make sure every question and answer is visible on the page, and never mark up content users can’t see.

Will FAQ schema give my page rich results in Google?
Probably not. Since 2023 Google limits FAQ rich results to authoritative government and health sites. Other search engines and AI tools may still use the markup, but no tool can guarantee how it is displayed.
Where do I put the JSON-LD?
Inside a <script type="application/ld+json"> element anywhere in the page’s HTML — the head or the body both work. The tool can wrap the output in that tag for you.
Can I use HTML in the answers?
Google allows a few basic tags (links, lists, bold and paragraphs) in the answer text, but plain text is the safest choice. Quotes, backslashes and line breaks are escaped automatically so the JSON stays valid.
How do I check the result?
Paste it into the JSON-LD Validator on this site for a structure check, then into Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator for the official view.
Is the FAQ Schema Generator free and private?
Yes. The FAQ Schema Generator is free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to a server or stored.
