Kanban Board
A simple Kanban board that needs no account: start with To Do, In Progress and Done, add your own columns, and drag cards between them. Cards can have a description, coloured labels and a due date that is flagged when it’s overdue. Everything is saved in this browser and can be exported as JSON.
This tool runs entirely in your browser.
How to use the Kanban Board
- 1Type a card title at the bottom of a column and press Add.
- 2Click a card’s title to add a description, labels and a due date.
- 3Drag cards between and within columns, or use the card’s “Move to” menu and ↑ ↓ buttons.
- 4Add, rename (click the name), reorder (← →) or delete columns. Filter cards by text or label with the search box.
- 5Export the board as JSON for a backup, and import it on another device.
What is the Kanban Board?
Kanban comes from the Toyota production system and was adapted for knowledge work: each card is a piece of work, and each column a stage it passes through. Seeing everything on one board makes it obvious where work piles up — if “In Progress” keeps growing, start fewer things and finish more.
This board is for personal use and small lists. It runs entirely in your browser: cards are stored in local storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no sharing or sync. Use Export JSON to keep a copy or move the board to another browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is my board private?
Yes. Cards are saved only in this browser’s local storage and never sent to a server. That also means other people can’t see it and it doesn’t sync between devices.
Does drag and drop work on a phone?
Yes — drag a card by its ⠿ handle; the board scrolls sideways when you reach the edge. You can also use the “Move to” menu on every card.
How do overdue cards show?
Cards past their due date get a red border and an “Overdue” label, unless they are in a column whose name contains “Done”.
Can I back up or move my board?
Use Export JSON to download the board and Import JSON to load it again. Imports are checked first, and an invalid file changes nothing.
Is the Kanban Board free and private?
Yes. The Kanban Board is free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to a server or stored.
