Your files never leave your device.
How to use the Edit PDF
- 1Choose a PDF file.
- 2Pick “Add text” and click on the page, or draw a white-out, highlight or box; use “Add image” for pictures and logos.
- 3Select an item to change its text, font, size or colour; drag to move it and use the corner handle to resize boxes and images.
- 4Click “Save PDF” and download the edited file.
What is the Edit PDF?
Your edits are added as a new layer on top of each page, in the order you add them — just as the preview shows — so the original text, images and layout stay exactly as they were. Text uses the standard PDF fonts Helvetica, Times and Courier, which support English and other Latin-alphabet languages.
To change existing wording, cover it with a white-out box and type the new text on top. The covered text is hidden but still inside the file; if it must be removed completely, convert it to images with PDF to JPG and turn those back into a PDF with the Image Converter.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Not directly — PDFs store text as positioned glyphs, not editable paragraphs. Cover the old text with white-out and add new text in its place; for most forms and letters the result looks the same.
Which languages can I type?
English and other languages written with Latin letters, including accents like é, ü and ñ. Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Asian scripts and emoji aren’t supported by the built-in PDF fonts.
Is the Edit PDF free and private?
Yes. The Edit PDF is free, needs no account, and processes your files entirely in your browser. Files are never uploaded to a server or stored.
