What is the Blur & Pixelate Image?

The effect is baked into the exported pixels, so the hidden detail cannot be recovered from the file you share. A solid box is the safest choice for text such as card or account numbers, because weak blurs on short text can sometimes be guessed.

The exported image is re-encoded in your browser, so camera and GPS metadata from the original is dropped as well. To check what an original photo reveals, open it in the EXIF Viewer.

Can a blurred or pixelated area be un-blurred?

Not from this file — the original pixels are replaced. Very light pixelation of short text (like a few digits) can occasionally be guessed, so use strong settings or a solid box for sensitive text.

Does it detect faces automatically?

No. You choose exactly what to hide by dragging boxes, which also avoids missed faces from imperfect automatic detection.
