URL Parser & Query String Builder
Paste a URL to see its protocol, host, port, path, query parameters and fragment. Edit, add, reorder or remove parameters — including utm_, gclid and fbclid tracking tags — and the URL is rebuilt and correctly encoded as you type.
This tool runs entirely in your browser.
How to use the URL Parser & Query String Builder
- 1Paste a full URL, including https://.
- 2Read its parts in the table, then edit the query parameters below it.
- 3Copy the rebuilt URL.
What is the URL Parser & Query String Builder?
A URL has up to eight parts: scheme (https:), user info, host, port, path, query string (?key=value&…), and fragment (#section). The tool uses your browser’s standard URL parser — the same one websites use — so results match what browsers actually do, including default ports (443 for https) and decoding of percent-encoded characters.
Query parameters are rebuilt with application/x-www-form-urlencoded encoding: spaces become +, and &, = and # inside values are percent-encoded so they can’t break the URL. Parameter order is kept, and repeated keys (tag=a&tag=b) are supported.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to remove utm_ parameters?
Yes for sharing links — they only tell analytics where a visit came from. Removing them doesn’t change the page you land on.
Why does my space show as + and not %20?
In query strings both mean a space. The form-encoding standard browsers use for parameters writes it as +.
Is the URL Parser & Query String Builder free and private?
Yes. The URL Parser & Query String Builder is free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to a server or stored.
